Bio
Wendy Egan is a Sarasota real estate specialist. She has extensive experience helping clients successfully navigate Sarasota’s most prominent neighborhoods. She is a multi-faceted executive with more than twenty years of experience interacting with sophisticated investors, high profile entrepreneurs and industry influencers. She has expertise in business, luxury, lifestyle, travel, the arts, beauty, spas and wellness, alternative investments, healthcare, technology and philanthropy.
Before entering real estate, Wendy built a successful media career as an on-air correspondent and producer for CNBC’s “High Net Worth”, a luxury and lifestyle program, where she covered topics ranging from investing in luxury real estate and art, health and wellness, business, entrepreneurship, fashion and beauty trends, food and wine, travel, interior design, and celebrities and their philanthropies. She interviewed celebrities such as Derek Jeter, Howard Stern, Andre Agassi, Donna Karan, Russell Simmons, and business leaders including Richard Branson of Virgin, Barbara Corcoran of the Corcoran Group and “Shark Tank”, Daymond John of FUBU and “Shark Tank”, Herb Kelleher of Southwest Airlines and W.L. Gore's CEO Terri Kelly, among others. Wendy also produced for a range of programs at CNN in New York, including “Lou Dobbs Tonight”, CNN Special Projects, CNN en Espanol and CNN Financial News.
Additionally, Wendy worked at Forbes Media, leading editorial publicity for the firm. She directed the global communications activities for the editorial division of more than 1,500 staff writers and expert contributors, and managed publicity for lists such as the World’s Billionaires and the 400 Richest Americans while developing partnerships and franchises to build Forbes’ editorial brand. Wendy also led and managed the publicity for Forbes’ conferences, including major events such as the Forbes Philanthropy Summit, Forbes Women’s Summit, and Forbes 30 Under 30 Summit, among others, where she negotiated media coverage with national, local and international outlets.
Furthermore, Wendy worked in investment management as a marketing executive for a large New York City-based single-family office and hedge fund, and as an analyst for Credit Suisse.
Currently, Wendy selectively appears on HSN (Home Shopping Network) as an on-air guest host representing luxury beauty products.
She holds an MBA from IESE Business School in Barcelona, Spain, and a B.A. degree in both International Affairs and Spanish from Lafayette College in Easton, PA. She is fluent in Spanish. In May 2016, she relocated from Manhattan after living there for 15 years, and resides with her husband, son and daughter in Sarasota.
